Treatment Consultant, Northern California Director, Shakti Rising
Leah Guthridge Caron is Regional Director in Northern California for Shakti Rising. Shakti Rising is a social change organization transforming the lives of women, girls, and the larger community. We cultivate the health and emerging leadership of women and girls, ultimately empowering them to utilize their personal transformation as a catalyst for positive change in their families and communities. She currently stewards the expansion efforts for bringing the Shakti Rising model, culture, and programming to Northern California.
Leah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Native American Studies from Naropa University. She has 10+ years experience in woman-centered & mindfulness models for social change, and has studied the implementation of sustainable community building, specializing in environmental and social issues. Leah has advanced training in addiction treatment and trauma-informed services; including gender-specific methods, contemplative psychology, somatic psychology, and energy psychology methods. She has also studied extensively in yoga, nutrition, theatre, expressive arts, peer mentoring, herbalism, and flower essence therapy. She has participated in ongoing training and execution of strategic planning, fundraising, woman-centered evaluation methods, and program development.
